Lactation & Breastfeeding Basics is an interactive 2-hour class designed to help expectant and new parents feel informed, prepared, and confident as they begin their feeding journey.
Throughout the class, you’ll learn how milk production works, what to expect with colostrum and milk transition, how to recognize newborn feeding cues, understand feeding frequency, practice breastfeeding positions, identify signs of an effective latch, and learn how to tell whether your baby is getting enough milk. We’ll also cover hand expression, pumping basics, common breastfeeding challenges, and when to seek additional lactation support.
This class is hands-on, supportive, and practical—not just a lecture. Expect positioning practice with demonstration dolls, partner-support exercises, real-life feeding scenarios, helpful take-home resources, a short Q&A session, and a raffle drawing.
Partners and support persons are encouraged to attend so they can learn practical ways to support the breastfeeding parent during the early postpartum period.
Perfect for first-time parents, new parents, and families who want to feel more confident, supported, and prepared for breastfeeding and lactation.
EARLY BIRD FEE: $75.00 per couple (birthing person + support person) through December 26th
REGULAR FEE: $100.00 per couple through January 9th
